Historique
Ancienne halle à grains construite pour faciliter les transactions ainsi que le stockage du blé après l'époque révolutionnaire. Sous le berceau voûté supportant le palier de l'escalier se trouvait autrefois une fontaine. Dotée pendant un temps, au devant des arcades du rez-de-chaussée, d'un auvent soutenu par des colonnes métalliques, cet ouvrage servit de kiosque à musique. Construite en pierre d'appareil, cette ancienne halle de plan octogonal est posée sur un pavage de même plan, précédé à l'est d'une montée de cinq marche pour répondre à la dénivellation du sol de ce côté. Chaque pan est percé, au rez-de-chaussée, d'une arcade en plein cintre à l'encadrement mouluré de deux bandeaux. Au-dessus de ce rez-de-chaussée, l'étage est percé, sur chaque pan, d'une fenêtre dont l'arc et de même forme et l'encadrement de même profil que l'arcade à laquelle elle se superpose. La toiture est en forme de dôme octogonal surmonté d'un épi.

History
Former grain hall constructed to facilitate transactions and the storage of wheat after the revolutionary period. Under the barrel vault supporting the landing of the staircase there was formerly a fountain. Equipped for a time, in front of the arcades of the ground floor, with an awning supported by metal columns, this structure served as a music kiosk. Constructed in ashlar stone, this former hall of octagonal plan is set on paving of the same plan, preceded to the east by a rise of five steps to account for the ground level difference on that side. Each bay is pierced, at ground floor level, by a round arch opening with moulded frame of two bands. Above this ground floor, the upper storey is pierced, on each bay, by a window whose arch is of the same form and whose frame has the same profile as the arcade to which it corresponds. The roof is in the form of an octagonal dome surmounted by a finial.
