Historique
Le château est formé d'un corps de logis entre deux pavillons qui l'encadrent. De plan rectangulaire, le pavillon nord abrite le porche d'entrée avec un portail chanfreiné à l'arc surbaissé. Surmontant les ouvertures, à la partie supérieure de la façade, une bretèche portée en saillie sur une rangée de sept corbeaux profilés de trois quarts-de-rond, percée de quatre petites canonnières. Trois bouches à feu existent également sur la façade. A l'angle sud de cette façade s'élève une tourelle circulaire percée de dix petites canonnières. Vers le nord, un ancien mur d'enceinte joint ce pavillon d'entrée. Au sud du corps de logis s'élève une tour carrée épaulée par deux contreforts, et munie d'une bretèche enveloppant l'angle. Les Roquet, qui habitaient Estresse, étaient d'anciens bourgeois de Beaulieu. Plusieurs membres de la famille figurèrent, au Moyen-Age, parmi les consuls de cette ville.

History
The castle is formed of a main dwelling between two pavilions which frame it. Of rectangular plan, the north pavilion houses the entrance porch with a chamfered portal with a depressed arch. Above the openings, in the upper part of the facade, a bretèche carried in projection on a row of seven corbels profiled with three-quarter-round, pierced with four small gun ports. Three gun ports also exist on the facade. At the south angle of this facade rises a circular turret pierced with ten small gun ports. Towards the north, an old boundary wall joins this entrance pavilion. To the south of the main dwelling rises a square tower buttressed by two buttresses, and furnished with a bretèche enveloping the angle. The Roquet family, who inhabited Estresse, were former bourgeois of Beaulieu. Several members of the family figured, in the Middle Ages, among the consuls of this city.
