The building, which existed in the 17th century, was enlarged in 1766 according to the plans of Frediani de Penta di Casinca. The interior decorations were completed in 1770. The façade comprises two storeys separated by cornices with pinnacles, the whole surmounted by a semi-circular pediment on which are affixed the papal tiara and the keys of Saint-Pierre. Above the central door, a niche surmounted by a small pediment with columns was intended to receive the statue of a saint. Staircases on which three doors open provide access to three naves separated by pilasters, and comprising eight side chapels. The transept is separated from the main nave by a marble balustrade. Collapsed in 1918, the four-storey bell tower was reconstructed in 1929.
