Tour génoise faisant partie des plus anciennes tours de l'île. Elle était à la charge de la population et aurait fait l'objet d'une rivalité entre Bastelicais et Ajacciens qui, selon une légende, s'en seraient disputés la propriété. Au-dessus du cordon du deuxième niveau se trouvent deux baies dont l'une, de forme carrée, est l'ancienne porte primitive dont la partie basse a été comblée. Des mâchicoulis, fermés par des arcs de briques, couronnent l'édifice dont la terrasse, entourée d'une rampe métallique, est encombrée d'une installation datant de la Seconde guerre mondiale. A l'intérieur, la base est occupée par un escalier récent de six gradins donnant accès au premier étage. Un escalier conduit à la terrasse. Une niche a été aménagée dans le mur nord.

History
Genoese tower forming part of the oldest towers of the island. It was the responsibility of the population and would have been the subject of a rivalry between the people of Bastelica and those of Ajaccio who, according to legend, would have disputed its ownership. Bonaparte is said to have resisted there for three days against peasants supporting Pascal Paoli. The round tower comprises two levels separated by a course of bricks. Above the cordon of the second level are two openings, one of which, square in form, is the old primitive door whose lower part has been filled in. Machicolations, closed by arcs of bricks, crown the building whose terrace, surrounded by a metal railing, is cluttered with an installation dating from the Second World War. Inside, the base is occupied by a recent staircase of six steps giving access to the first floor. A staircase leads to the terrace. A niche has been arranged in the north wall.
