A l'origine appelé hôtel Germania, le Grand Hôtel a été bâti à partir de 1869. L'édifice se présente comme un vaste rectangle précédé d'un jardin ouvert sur le Cours. La façade principale est formée d'un corps central délimité par deux pavillons s'élevant plus haut que le reste des toitures. Les deux ailes sont dans le prolongement du corps central, encadrées par des pilastres à bossages. L'ornementation de la façade est empruntée au style néo-classique. Les baies du premier étage sont surmontées, dans le corps central, de frontons curvilignes soutenus par des consoles. Cet édifice a participé au développement de la ville sous le Second Empire et la Troisième République. Il abrite l'Assemblée Régionale de Corse.

History
Originally called Hotel Germania, the Grand Hotel was built from 1869. The building presents itself as a vast rectangle preceded by a garden open to the Cours.
