L'appellation du château de l'Ardoise est attestée en 1561. Le château fut construit par le maçon Pierre Dussier et le charpentier Pierre Fesset pour Gouault Archambault, conseiller du roi, qui, au cours de sa carrière dans l'administration des finances, a pu prendre directement conseil auprès de Philibert de l'Orme. History
The name of the château de l'Ardoise is attested in 1561. The château was built by the mason Pierre Dussier and the carpenter Pierre Fesset for Gouault Archambault, councillor to the king, who, in the course of his career in financial administration, was able to take direct counsel from Philibert de l'Orme.
