Il servit autrefois à clore un terrain à l'usage des foires et des marchés. C'est un portail important en pierre de taille à bossages, avec un arc en anse de panier. Il est orné de pilastres et d'un fronton semi circulaire à la partie supérieure. Corniche moulurée. Pans de murs à droite et à gauche du portail. Petite porte carrée percé dans le mur côté gauche.

History
This gateway must have been erected at the time when those of the convent of the Bernardines and of the hospice were built. Belonging to the same family, it is probable that it was also built by the care of the duc de Beauvilliers. Its primitive destination is not known. It formerly served to enclose a piece of land for the use of fairs and markets. It is an important gateway in ashlar stone with bosses, with a basket-handle arch. It is decorated with pilasters and a semi-circular pediment at the upper part. Moulded cornice. Panels of walls to the right and left of the gateway. Small square door pierced in the wall on the left side.
