L'enceinte rectangulaire était percée par quatre portes carrées, une à chaque point cardinal. Les portes nord, sud et est ont été conservées. Cinq tours rondes se trouvent sur les courtines. Le fossé a été comblé. Au sud, le Cher formait une défense naturelle. Les remparts ont sans doute été en partie démantelés après les guerres de la Ligue.

History
The rectangular enclosure was pierced by four square gates, one at each cardinal point. The north, south and east gates have been preserved. Five round towers are found on the curtain walls. The moat has been filled in. To the south, the Cher formed a natural defence. The ramparts were probably partly dismantled after the Wars of the League.
