Historique
Fief important qui relevait en partie de la châtellenie de Montrésor. Du château reconstruit au 15e siècle subsistent la porterie que les modifications du 18e siècle ont un peu altérée, une tour d'angle, un pan de mur d'enceinte avec meurtrière et une partie des douves. Le logis d'habitation a été remplacé par un château moderne. La porte se trouve au sud de l'ancienne enceinte dont les courtines ont disparu. Elle est constituée par un bâtiment rectangulaire percé à son rez-de-chaussée d'un couloir reliant deux arcades en plein cintre. Le pont-levis était doublé à gauche d'un pont-levis à flèche précédant un guichet. A l'angle nord-est, la porte est accompagnée d'une tourelle carrée en encorbellement, soutenue par un pilier. Elle est accompagnée à l'angle nord-ouest par une tour polygonale dont la porte en anse de panier est accostée de pilastres amortis par des pinacles, et encadrée d'une accolade à crochets et fleurons.

History
Important fief which was held in part from the castellany of Montrésor. Of the castle rebuilt in the 15th century there remain the gatehouse which modifications of the 18th century have somewhat altered, a corner tower, a section of curtain wall with loophole and part of the moat. The main dwelling has been replaced by a modern castle. The gate is located to the south of the old enclosure whose curtain walls have disappeared. It consists of a rectangular building pierced on its ground floor by a corridor connecting two round-arch arcades. The drawbridge was doubled on the left by a swing drawbridge preceded by a wicket. At the north-east corner, the gate is accompanied by a square corbelled turret, supported by a pillar. It is accompanied at the north-west corner by a polygonal tower whose basket-handle arch door is flanked by pilasters finished off by pinnacles, and framed by a crocketed and flowered hood-mould.
