Historique
Situé dans l'ancien bourg de Châteauneuf, l'hôtel du trésorier était le symbole de l'autorité temporelle des chanoines (le droit de haute justice était attaché à la charge de trésorier). Elevé vraisemblablement à la fin du 15e siècle, l'hôtel a conservé sur la place du Grand-Marché un portail très orné, caractéristique du gothique flamboyant. L'édifice actuel, vestige d'un important ensemble de bâtiments aujourd'hui disparus, est encadré par deux immeubles du siècle dernier. Il se compose d'un rez-de-chaussée très largement percé d'une porte cochère en anse de panier, d'un étage orné de deux baies en arc brisé encadrant un large dais et d'un pignon découvert percé d'une petite ouverture éclairant le comble. La porte cochère, occupant toute la largeur du rez-de-chaussée, ouvre sur un passage couvert menant à une petite cour intérieure, d'où l'on accède à l'escalier de l'immeuble voisin.

History
Located in the old borough of Châteauneuf, the treasurer's townhouse was the symbol of the temporal authority of the canons (the right of high justice was attached to the office of treasurer). Raised presumably in the late 15th century, the townhouse has preserved on the Place du Grand-Marché a highly decorated portal, characteristic of flamboyant Gothic. The present building, remnant of an important complex of buildings now lost, is framed by two buildings of the last century. It is composed of a ground floor very widely pierced by a carriage door in baskethandle form, a storey adorned with two pointed arch openings flanking a wide canopy and a gable pierced by a small opening lighting the roof space. The carriage door, occupying the full width of the ground floor, opens onto a covered passage leading to a small interior courtyard, from which one accesses the staircase of the neighbouring building.
