Les ruines du vieux château inspirèrent Walter Scott qui y séjourna lors de son passage en Touraine, en vue de se documenter pour "Quentin Durward". Le manoir, bâti à l'emplacement de bâtiments plus anciens, comprend une construction et une petite aile en retour d'équerre. Les ruines du château primitif se trouvent au nord-est du parc. La partie la mieux conservée est une tour polygonale occupée par un escalier accédant aux terrasses. Un puits ancien avoisine ces ruines.

History
Domain mentioned in 1522. The present manor is the former dwelling of the manager, and was erected in 1622. The ruins of the old castle inspired Walter Scott who stayed there during his visit to Touraine, in order to research for "Quentin Durward". The manor, built on the site of older buildings, comprises a construction and a small wing set at right angles. The ruins of the original castle are found to the north-east of the park. The best-preserved part is a polygonal tower occupied by a staircase leading to the terraces. An old well adjoins these ruins.
