Cet édifice est l'ancienne église paroissiale de la commune de Saint-Georges, réunie à Rochecorbon en 1808, partiellement troglodyte. La nef est du 11e siècle, et le choeur carré des 11e-12e siècles. A différentes époques, les murs intérieurs ont été badigeonnés à la chaux, recouvrant et conservant les peintures murales existantes : certaines (sur le mur nord de la nef) datent du 12e siècle (Lavement des pieds) ou du début du 13e siècle (La Cène). Les peintures du choeur sont moins bien conservées. La présence de pierres ornées d'entrelacs dans la maçonnerie, laisse penser que la chapelle fut construite à l'emplacement d'un édifice plus ancien.

History
This building is the former parish church of the commune of Saint-Georges, united with Rochecorbon in 1808, partially troglodytic. The nave is of the 11th century, and the square choir of the 11th-12th centuries. At various periods, the interior walls were lime-washed, covering and preserving existing murals: some (on the north wall of the nave) date from the 12th century (Washing of the Feet) or from the early 13th century (The Last Supper). The paintings of the choir are less well preserved. The presence of stones decorated with interlace in the masonry suggests that the chapel was built on the site of an older building.
