Ancienne châtellenie relevant de l'archevêché de Tours. L'église fut construite au 11e ou 12e siècle et subit plusieurs remaniements au 13e : le transept et sa croisée reçoivent leurs voûtes angevines ; le choeur primitif est remplacé par une travée de plan rectangulaire terminée par une abside octogonale ; le croisillon sud est supprimé pour faire place à un clocher dont l'étage de beffroi fut refait au 15e siècle.

History
Former castellany depending on the archbishopric of Tours. The church was built in the 11th or 12th century and underwent several alterations in the 13th: the transept and its crossing receive their Angevin vaults; the original choir is replaced by a bay of rectangular plan terminated by an octagonal apse; the south transept arm is suppressed to make way for a bell tower whose belfry stage was rebuilt in the 15th century.
