Historique
L'hôpital fut fondé en 1620 par Suzanne Dubois, religieuse de l'ordre de Saint-Augustin. Il fut agrandi en 1629. La chapelle fut construite par le duc d'Epernon, en réparation de voie de fait dont il s'était rendu coupable vis à vis de l'archevêque de Bordeaux. Au 18e siècle furent élevés l'important corps de bâtiment fermant la cour au nord, et deux hauts pavillons prolongeant la chapelle à l'est et à l'ouest. A l'ouest de la cour se trouve le bâtiment du 17e siècle dont le rez-de-chaussée comporte une grande salle qui servait à l'origine de salle de communauté aux religieuses.

History
The hospital was founded in 1620 by Suzanne Dubois, nun of the order of Saint-Augustine. It was enlarged in 1629. The chapel was built by the Duke of Épernon, in reparation for acts of violence of which he had been guilty towards the Archbishop of Bordeaux. In the 18th century were erected the substantial building complex closing the courtyard to the north, and two tall pavilions extending the chapel to the east and west. To the west of the courtyard stands the 17th-century building whose ground floor includes a large hall which originally served as a community room for the nuns.
