Ce château a été construit de 1638 à 1646 par Pierre Le Muet pour Claude Bouthillier, surintendant des finances de Louis XIII. Le Muet a conservé la galerie Renaissance d'un château antérieur. Le château est aujourd'hui disparu (détruit en 1833) , à l'exception de quelques vestiges (chapelle et escalier dans le pavillon, portail d'entrée, plate-forme) , mais connu par de nombreuses gravures publiées dans l'ouvrage de Le Muet.

History
This castle was built from 1638 to 1646 by Pierre Le Muet for Claude Bouthillier, superintendent of finances of Louis XIII. Le Muet retained the Renaissance gallery of an earlier castle. The castle has now disappeared (destroyed in 1833), with the exception of a few vestiges (chapel and staircase in the pavilion, entrance gateway, platform), but is known through numerous engravings published in Le Muet's work.
