Historique

History
The present state of the castle is due to its partial demolition in 1890, the owner having then authorised the demolition of the roofs to use the roof structures in the repair of other buildings. The estate comprises to the west the castle and to the east the outbuildings. The castle is divided into two parts defended by moats. A bailey of trapezoidal plan was no doubt surrounded by curtain walls flanked by towers. Of these towers, two subsist. The seigneurial main dwelling comprises a building developing between two cylindrical towers, and two wings in right-angle return towards the north. The lower storey is occupied by a vaulted gallery, with loopholes. The upper storey served as a dwelling. Windows are flanked by pilasters decorated with medallions or standing figures superposed. A cylindrical tower at the north-west and rectangular at the north-east must have strengthened the angles of the curtain wall. The outbuildings comprise a barn, stables, byres, a coach house.
