Historique
Ancien fief relevant de Faye-la-Vineuse. Entouré autrefois d'une vaste enceinte de murs dont une grande partie subsiste au nord-ouest et au sud-ouest, avec une tour d'angle ouest, le château comprend un long bâtiment de la fin du 16e siècle. Il se développe entre deux pavillons rectangulaires, à chacun desquels il est réuni par une tour polygonale d'escalier. Au 18e siècle, la travée centrale de la façade nord-est, sur la cour, fut modifiée par la construction d'un avant-corps amorti par un fronton triangulaire. Deux ailes en retour sont construites perpendiculairement à cette façade nord-est. L'aile qui limite la cour au nord est plus ancienne que le château, et remonte au 16e siècle. Les pilastres Renaissance d'une porte et une tour cylindrique voisine en sont contemporains. Du côté opposé, la cour est limitée par une aile symétrique, à usage de servitude, prolongée par des bâtiments à même usage la reliant au colombier en ruine du début du 16e siècle.

History
Former fief subject to Faye-la-Vineuse. Formerly surrounded by a vast wall enclosure, much of which subsists to the north-west and south-west, with a west corner tower, the castle comprises a long building from the late 16th century. It develops between two rectangular pavilions, to each of which it is joined by a polygonal staircase tower. In the 18th century, the central bay of the north-east façade, on the courtyard, was modified by the construction of a pavilion adorned by a triangular pediment. Two return wings are built perpendicular to this north-east façade. The wing which limits the courtyard to the north is older than the castle, and dates back to the 16th century. The Renaissance pilasters of a door and a neighbouring cylindrical tower are contemporary with it. On the opposite side, the courtyard is limited by a symmetrical wing, for service use, extended by buildings for the same use connecting it to the ruined dovecote of the early 16th century.
