Le château de Civray a remplacé un édifice plus ancien. Il a été édifié en 1715 pour le tourangeau Louis Lhomme de La Pinsonnière. History
The castle of Civray replaced an older edifice. It was built in 1715 for the Tourangeau Louis Lhomme de La Pinsonnière. The plans are said to have been established by Germain Boffrand for an initial project of Montgeoffroy in Anjou. It was remodelled under the Restoration and extended by two small pavilions. The property, situated to the east of the village, enclosed by walls, covers four hectares. A formal garden precedes the castle oriented north-south, two terraces dominate to the south a landscape park, stopped below by the embankment of the railway line. In the park, a crypt houses the family vault. The north-east angle of the property is occupied by the outbuilding courtyard, dated to 1635.
