Historique
Le fief relevait de Chinon et de Turpenay. En 1559, les propriétaires font fortifier le logis seigneurial. Le manoir présente deux bâtiments en équerre aux hauts pignons dont le rempant en rondelis était orné de crochets. Une tour d'escalier polygonale se place dans l'angle rentrant. Un bandeau sculpté sépare les étages et se décroche pour surmonter l'emplacement de l'écu et les fenêtres de la tour. Des lucarnes ornées de coquilles éclairent les combles. D'importantes tours percées de meurtrières assuraient la défense. Il en subsiste une rectangulaire accolée au château, dont les mâchicoulis sont intacts. Une tour ronde au nord flanquait l'ancienne porte d'entrée. Une autre au sud a perdu sa hauteur primitive. Petite chapelle du 17e siècle.

History
The fief was held from Chinon and Turpenay. In 1559, the owners had the seigneurial dwelling fortified. The manor presents two buildings at right angles with tall gables whose rampant in rounded moulding was adorned with crockets. A polygonal stair tower is placed in the re-entrant angle. A sculptured band separates the storeys and steps out to surmount the position of the escutcheon and the windows of the tower. Dormers adorned with scallop shells light the roof space. Large towers pierced with loopholes ensured the defence. One rectangular tower survives attached to the castle, its machicolations intact. A round tower to the north flanked the old entrance door. Another to the south has lost its original height. Small chapel of the 17th century.
