Châtellenie which was under the barony of Preuilly. The first known lord lived in 1190. In 1533, the château consisted of four dwelling blocks surrounding a central courtyard and surrounded by moats crossed by a drawbridge. In the 17th century, the north wing was demolished and rebuilt respecting a cylindrical tower which contained a staircase and a square tower crowned with a crenellated parapet with machicolations. At the same period, the southern wing and part of the western wing were removed. Only the massive square corner tower survives with its crenellated parapet and its machicolations decorated with trefoil arcading. The drawbridge was replaced by a fixed bridge. In the 18th century, the entire eastern wing was demolished and replaced by a large building. A pavilion of the same height extends it to the south. To the east of the château, a forecourt is bounded by outbuildings, flanked externally by two cylindrical towers.
