Historique
Nitray était un fief relevant de Veretz. Emery Lopin, maître des requêtes de la Reine-mère, maire de Tours, le possédait en 1516 et peut être considéré comme le constructeur du bâtiment actuel. History
Nitray was a fief dependent on Veretz. Emery Lopin, master of requests of the Queen Mother, mayor of Tours, owned it in 1516 and may be considered the builder of the present building. It is a rectangular edifice, raised at the East façade because of the slope of the land. Dormers surmounted by gables and pinnacles. To the east and at the south-west angle, the roof space is cut by the upper storeys of two staircase towers. To the north of the courtyard, a door flanked by two towers, the eastern one being fitted out as a chapel. The dovecot occupies the north-west angle of the courtyard, bounded to the west by the outbuildings, which are contemporary with the château or older. A pavilion in the south-east angle of the courtyard is certainly older than the château. The enclosure wall ends to the south in a turret covered with a dome.
