Les caves et silos sont creusés dans le coteau dépendant de l'hôtel-restaurant Le Choiseul. L'époque de ce creusement est incertaine. Les quatre silos furent aménagés en 1548 par un apothicaire, Gastignon, qui les utilisa peut-être pour la conservation des plantes médicinales. Ces souterrains furent acquis en 1588 par les Minimes dont le monastère, fondé en 1491, s'étendait entre le coteau et la Loire. Les souterrains comprennent une galerie inférieure, de plain pied avec le sol de la cour et profonde d'environ cent mètres. Une galerie supérieure divisée autrefois en deux étages par une voûte dont subsistent les arrachements. Au fond de l'étage intermédiaire se trouvent les quatre silos, autrefois séparés, reliés par des baies modernes creusées dans les parois. The cellars and silos are dug into the hillside depending on the Le Choiseul hotel-restaurant. The date of this excavation is uncertain. The four silos were arranged in 1548 by an apothecary, Gastignon, who may have used them for the preservation of medicinal plants. These underground passages were acquired in 1588 by the Minimes whose monastery, founded in 1491, extended between the hillside and the Loire. The underground passages comprise a lower gallery, level with the floor of the courtyard and about one hundred metres deep. An upper gallery formerly divided into two storeys by a vault of which the springing remains. At the end of the intermediate storey are the four silos, formerly separate, connected by modern openings cut into the walls. They have the form of a cylinder surmounted by a hemispherical dome. They are constituted by a brickwork of small bricks, not applied to the rock, but separated from it by a gap filled with sand. The top of the domes is pierced by a circular opening situated at the level of the floor of the upper storey. In the middle of the floor of each silo is dug a rectangular well descending through a cut in the rock to the lower underground passage. A straight staircase, cut into the rock, connects the different storeys to each other.
