History
La Châtière was a fief held of the baronies of la Haye and Grand-Pressigny. From the old castle there remain a long 15th-century building serving, in its western part, as a dwelling and in its eastern part as granaries and storage rooms; a wing at right angles towards the south, whose wall probably dates partly from the 13th century, rebuilt in the 16th; the main entrance gate; a 12th-century chapel; a cylindrical defensive tower, pierced with loopholes and covered with a conical roof with dormer windows accompanied by sculptured animals.
