Historique
Abbaye fondée au début de l'instauration, en Berry, de la réforme de Cîteaux. Elle fut créée en 1128 par Saint-Bernard. Elle fut sécularisée et dépecée à la Révolution. L'église a été démolie jusqu'aux fondations, sauf un morceau du mur nord du transept où se voit le mausolée de Gaucher de Passac. La paroi sud du transept sert de clôture au bâtiment conservé du dortoir, limitant à l'est le cloître. Ce dernier a disparu, sauf sur la face ouest où il sert de soubassement à une surélévation tardive des bâtiments des greniers. Au sud, l'aile du réfectoire et des cuisines a été entièrement transformée aux 17e et 18e siècles. Au 19e siècle lui a été ajoutée une galerie néo-gothique. A l'est, le bâtiment des dortoirs a conservé tout un rez-de-chaussée du 12e siècle (sacristie, salle capitulaire, salle des moines, escaliers, passages voûtés).

History
Abbey founded in the early establishment in Berry of the Cistercian reform. It was created in 1128 by Saint Bernard. It was secularized and dismantled at the Revolution. The church was demolished to its foundations, except a piece of the north wall of the transept where is seen the mausoleum of Gaucher de Passac. The south wall of the transept serves to close the building retained of the dormitory, limiting to the east the cloister. The latter has disappeared, except on the west face where it serves as a base for a late heightening of the granary buildings. To the south, the wing of the refectory and kitchens was entirely transformed in the 17th and 18th centuries. In the 19th century a Neo-Gothic gallery was added to it. To the east, the dormitory building has retained a whole ground floor from the 12th century (sacristy, chapter room, monks' hall, staircases, barrel-vaulted passages).
