Le château est cité pour la première fois dans une bulle d'Alexandre III de 1163. L'édifice comprend trois enceintes : celle de la motte du donjon, celle de la basse cour, celle de la grande cour communiquant avec la précédente par un pont-levis. Le donjon est une tour circulaire avec chemin de ronde fermé par une enceinte ovale, flanqué au nord de deux tours. L'accès à la basse cour se fait par un portail cintré flanqué de deux tours. Casemates dans l'enceinte voûtée en berceau. Au fond de la grande cour se trouve le manoir du 15e siècle.

History
The castle is cited for the first time in a bull of Alexander III of 1163. The building comprises three enclosures: that of the keep motte, that of the lower court, that of the great court communicating with the former by a drawbridge. The keep is a circular tower with a closed rampart walk enclosed by an oval enceinte, flanked to the north by two towers. Access to the lower court is by a round-arched portal flanked by two towers. Casemates in the barrel vault-covered enceinte. At the end of the great court is found the 15th-century manor.
