The Ministère de la Culture's notice
Historique

History
In 1729, a description of the place corresponds to the current state of the central pavilion and the dovecote. The central body opens onto the courtyard of honour which contains the circular dovecote and the chapel. In 1756, construction of the two wings and outbuildings, laying out of the park and its avenues and enclosure. A building set parallel to the outbuildings and in front of them comprises the orangery, the bakehouse and a pigsty. It separates the vegetable garden from the courtyard of the outbuildings. The garden was created around 1756-1760, and may be considered as representative of the art of French gardens of the 18th century. Left abandoned, it was restored in 1910 by Jamain according to the original plans. As for the castle, it is a fine example, rare in the region, of the Beauce country manor house. Local history mentions the capture at this place of the Orgères gang whose brigandage marked the memory of the population.
