Edifice bâti en commémoration des combats de Loigny-la-Bataille, le 2 décembre 1870. Neuf mille hommes tombèrent au combat. L'église est réalisée par l'architecte Lucien Douillard. L'abside et la crypte ossuaire, de plan carré, sont reliées par deux escaliers à vis. Les murs de l'abside et la voûte, sont décorés de peintures à motifs historiques et religieux, et recouverts de plaques de marbre commémorativesportant les noms des 700 soldats reconnus. La crypte conserve les tombes des généraux de Sonis et de Charette, ainsi que les ossements de soldats tués.

History
Building erected in commemoration of the combats of Loigny-la-Bataille, 2 December 1870. Nine thousand men fell in combat. The church is realised by the architect Lucien Douillard. The apse and the ossuary crypt, of square plan, are linked by two spiral staircases. The walls of the apse and the vault are decorated with paintings in historical and religious motifs, and covered with commemorative marble plaques bearing the names of 700 recognised soldiers. The crypt preserves the tombs of generals de Sonis and de Charette, as well as the remains of soldiers killed.
