Of the metallurgical works, only the blast furnace remains, built in 1768 (date borne on a gargoyle) for the duc Armand-Joseph de Béthune-Charost on the site of a mill. It ceased to function from 1841 onwards. A tannery was then installed on the site. The cast iron was produced there then transported to Charenton where three forges transformed it into iron. The site comprised, at its centre, the furnace with its casting hall; facing it, the charcoal hall; to the west, workers' housing in two units; to the east, the dwelling of the chief clerk, arranged according to a linear plan. The furnace in the form of an inverted cone, activated by a pair of bellows installed in a bellows chamber with a roof, was enclosed in a square envelope, built of rubble stone of limestone faced with an ashlar facing, and reinforced on its four sides by wooden pieces supported by corbels. A high chimney of square section ensured the evacuation of fumes. Adjacent to the furnace, to the north, was found the covered casting hall. The blast furnace operated on charcoal, characteristic of the second half of the 18th century.
