Le couvent de Capucins fut construit à l'emplacement d'une chapelle dédiée à saint Marc et détruite à la demande de Sully. Le couvent fut fondé en 1621 par Henri II de Bourbon, prince de Condé, et dédié en 1627. La façade orientale de l'église porte la date de 1623. Endommagé pendant le siège de Montrond en 1652, il fut en grande partie reconstruit en 1657 et modifié au cours du 18e siècle. Transformé en fabrique de canons pendant la Révolution, il fut ensuite aménagé en hôpital en 1799. History
The convent of Capuchins was built on the site of a chapel dedicated to Saint Mark and destroyed at the request of Sully. The convent was founded in 1621 by Henri II de Bourbon, prince de Condé, and dedicated in 1627. The eastern façade of the church bears the date 1623. Damaged during the siege of Montrond in 1652, it was largely rebuilt in 1657 and modified during the course of the 18th century. Transformed into a cannon factory during the Revolution, it was subsequently fitted out as a hospital in 1799. The church was restored in 1867 and erected as a parish in 1876, under the dedication of Saint-Roch. The plan conforms to that of most houses of this order. It consists of an ensemble of four blocks of building distributed around a central courtyard. To the north, one of these buildings houses the chapel whose entrance façade with its porch presents the sole decorative element of this ensemble. Inside, the chapel, now become a church, comprises a single nave covered with a plaster barrel vault while the choir is vaulted with a groin vault.
