Historique
Sauf destruction et reconstruction en 1545, on peut attribuer cette maison réédifiée au lendemain de l'incendie de 1487 à la famille Houet, notables de Bourges au 15e siècle, anoblie par l'échevinage. Une restauration a été entreprise par Boeswillvald à la suite de l'incendie de la charpente en 1915. L'immeuble est entièrement construit en pans de bois et comporte un rez-de-chaussée, deux étages et un comble. Le rez-de-chaussée est occupé par une boutique et la porte d'entrée sur cour, à droite de la façade, est richement ornée de sculptures. Les consoles des poteaux et la moulure du sommier sont agrémentés de fruits et d'animaux, de même à l'étage. L'ensemble est en pan de bois au quadrillage losangé avec croisées (deux par étage). Les intérieurs ont été modifiés au 18e siècle.

History
Except for destruction and reconstruction in 1545, this house, rebuilt following the fire of 1487, can be attributed to the Houet family, notables of Bourges in the 15th century, ennobled by the aldermanry. A restoration was undertaken by Boeswillvald following the fire of the roof structure in 1915. The building is entirely constructed in timber framing and comprises a ground floor, two storeys and a roof space. The ground floor is occupied by a shop and the entrance door to the courtyard, on the right of the façade, is richly decorated with sculptures. The consoles of the posts and the moulding of the lintel are embellished with fruits and animals, likewise on the storey. The whole is timber framing with lozenged criss-cross and windows (two per storey). The interiors were modified in the 18th century.
