Historique
Ce château a été construit pour Pierre Du Houssay, conseiller du Roi au parlement de Bretagne et maître des requêtes, acquéreur de la vallée en 1582. Le château se compose d'un grand corps de logis flanqué de deux ailes. L'aile gauche qui paraît plus ancienne forme un pavillon massif agrémenté d'une bretêche en encorbellement. Le corps central est à deux étages régulièrement percés et surmontés de lucarnes avec oeil de boeuf et volutes. A l'angle de ce corps et de l'aile droite, une tour massive circulaire se termine par un étage carré abritant une pièce. L'aile gauche présente une bretèche semblable à celle du grand pavillon. Les intérieurs présentent des salles avec cheminées dont quelques-unes ont conservé le décor peint d'origine. Les communs comprennent écuries et pigeonnier.

History
This castle was built for Pierre Du Houssay, councillor of the King in the Brittany parliament and master of requests, purchaser of the valley in 1582. The castle comprises a large main dwelling flanked by two wings. The left wing which appears older forms a massive pavilion adorned with a corbelled bretêche. The central body has two regularly pierced storeys topped with dormers featuring oculi and scrolls. At the angle of this body and the right wing, a massive circular tower terminates in a square storey housing a room. The left wing presents a bretêche similar to that of the large pavilion. The interiors feature halls with fireplaces, some of which have retained their original painted decoration. The outbuildings include stables and a dovecot.
