Historique
Lagarde fut, au Moyen Age, un village fortifié assez important, possession de l'abbaye de Moissac. Les moines venaient y séjourner, surtout aux époques de la peste. Plus tard, cession du castellum aux frères Calvère par les abbés de Moissac. Simon de Montfort détruisit le castellum en représailles contre les seigneurs partisans du comte de Toulouse. Au 19e siècle, le service religieux cessa progressivement d'y être célébré. De l'édifice roman primitif ne reste que l'abside et une partie de la nef avec une arcade en ogive. A proximité de la chapelle se trouve le logis lui-même dont il ne reste qu'une tour bien appareillée et une partie d'un bâtiment central.

History
Lagarde was, in the Middle Ages, a fairly important fortified village, possession of the abbey of Moissac. The monks came to stay there, especially in times of plague. Later, cession of the castellum to the Calvère brothers by the abbots of Moissac. Simon de Montfort destroyed the castellum in reprisal against the lords who were supporters of the count of Toulouse. In the 19th century, religious services gradually ceased to be celebrated there. Of the primitive Romanesque building only the apse and part of the nave with a pointed arch opening remain. Near the chapel is found the main dwelling itself of which only a well-dressed stone tower and part of a central building remain.
