Historique

History
The present castle, which is rather a master's residence, is established on the foundations of an old fortified castle which was razed by the English in the 14th century. Rebuilt, it was sacked and burned by the Reformed in 1621. Lastours was rebuilt again in the 17th century. It was pillaged in 1789. In the 19th century, Dominique Rigail de Lastours provided shelter to the Duchess of Polignac in exile, sister-in-law of Prince Jules de Polignac, minister of Charles X. The rooms of the East wing of the castle were arranged for her. He also had the terrace, entrance and stair cage arranged. Of quadrangular plan, the building is preceded by a courtyard delimited by outbuildings. To the north, the façade is interrupted by the terrace. Inside, ceilings painted with exposed beams. Living room decorated by the father of Ingres. In the dining room, a Gothic fireplace in stone from Bruniquel. The bedroom intended for the Duchess is decorated with stucco, as is the boudoir.
