In 1166, the place of Francou was given to the priory of Saint-Etienne de Grandmont by the lords of Durfort and Caussade. Shortly after a priory was built there. In 1317, it was raised to the rank of collegiate priory. In 1567, it was devastated during the Wars of Religion. The order was dissolved shortly before the Revolution and the priory sold as national property. The buildings are arranged around the area of the old cloister. To the north, there remains the nave of the church, barrel-vaulted. The chevet with three gables was demolished in 1850. Perpendicular to the axis of the church extends a series of rooms: chapter house, refectory, sacristy... The chapter house has retained its six bays vaulted with ribs, resting on engaged brick columns whose capital is carved in this material. The room has retained, towards the cloister, its three openings. The upper floor retains a room which served as a winter oratory and the dormitory remodelled in the 17th century. The farmhouse dwelling consists, on the south facade, of an axial bay surmounted by a triangular pediment dated 1843. The wings were built in 1890. The ground floor of the right wing retains the monumental 17th century brick fireplace of the former kitchens of the monks. The buildings of the old priory were completed, in 1844, by a residential wing flanked by a pigeon tower.
