Historique

History
Since 1282, the seigniory of Monesties depended on the bishops (then archbishops) of Albi. The existing structures are not earlier than the 16th century. At the angle of the facades on the boulevard and on the courtyard, a turret rests on a circular corbelling composed of five courses of increasing diameters. This turret rises over two storeys each pierced by a large oval gun embrasure. The street facade presents a second storey projecting over the first, itself corbelled over the ground floor. These projecting walls rest on wooden joists reinforced, at the ends and at the center, by stone corbels. Part of the ground floor is occupied by a shop composed of an entrance door and two segmental arches. The round arch door presents two pilasters supporting an architrave. Three pilasters similar to those of the door frame the two large openings.
