History

A confraternity of Notre-Dame de Piétat is attested in this chapel from 1493. Part of the chapel is probably earlier than the 15th century. The nave ends in a semi-circular apse, with two chapels of the same apse, forming a false transept. The sacristy is placed in the angle between the south chapel and the apse. Chapels and nave are covered with slate. Two side doors, probably from the 16th century, to the north and south, were blocked probably in 1755 at the time of the extension of the nave. To the west stands a bell tower with an asymmetrical octagonal spire. An 18th-century marble door, surmounted by a small shrine housing a terracotta Pietà, pierces the facade. Inside, painted vaults and retable. At the far end of the apse, rises a painted altar-tomb in marble. The north chapel is the only part of the building covered in stone, by a barrel vault which appears to indicate that it is earlier than the 15th century. The south chapel would have been built around 1740 and is covered by a vault forming a painted wooden barrel.
