Cet ancien hôtel symbolise l'essor du thermalisme dans les Pyrénées où, pour accueillir la foule des curistes, il a fallu construire des hôtels et des établissements thermaux conformes aux goûts des patients exigeants. Construit en 1882, en même temps que la construction d'un réseau d'assainissement ainsi que du premier tronçon de route goudronnée. C'est un immeuble monumental dont la façade développe ses trois étages bien marqués par des balcons en fer forgé, augmenté d'un étage de combles. L'aspect imposant est renforcé par deux cariatides flanquant le porche d'entrée, lesquelles supportent un balcon en pierre. Au rez-de-chaussée, reposant sur un soubassement, d'importantes baies en plein cintre décorées de masques à têtes humaines, de lions et de chutes de fruits rythment la base de l'immeuble. Les fenêtres en plein cintre situées au-dessus du porche sont encadrées de pilastres. Le porche d'entrée, en anse de panier, se détache sur un mur à bossages et est orné d'une grille en fer forgé. La même ordonnance se retrouve sur les façades de la cour. Ces façades sont dépourvues de sculptures. Seules les deux statues des deux escaliers d'angle du perron central agrémentent cette cour.

This former hotel symbolizes the development of thermal tourism in the Pyrenees where, to welcome the crowds of spa patients, it was necessary to construct hotels and thermal establishments in conformity with the tastes of demanding patients. It is a monumental building whose façade displays its three well-marked storeys by wrought iron balconies, increased by a storey of roof space. The imposing aspect is reinforced by two caryatids flanking the entrance portico, which support a stone balcony. On the ground floor, resting on a base, important round arch openings decorated with masks with human heads, lions and fruit festoons rhythm the base of the building. The round arch windows situated above the portico are framed by pilasters. The entrance portico, in basket-handle arch, stands out on a rusticated wall and is decorated with wrought iron grille. The same arrangement is found on the facades of the courtyard. These façades are devoid of sculptures. Only the two statues of the two corner staircases of the central steps embellish this courtyard.
