Le 26 juin 1871, la Compagnie des Chemins de Fer du Midi inaugure sa ligne de Lourdes à Pierrefitte-Nestalas. Le transport des voyageurs pour les stations thermales était réalisé par des diligences incommodes et lentes. C'est pourquoi, en 1895, est réalisé le réseau de la Compagnie des Chemins de Fer à Traction Electrique de Pierrefitte-Cauterets et Luz-Saint-Sauveur dont le but était de permettre le transport des voyageurs et des marchandises d'après un horaire régulier en correspondance avec les trains d'une grande ligne. History
On 26 June 1871, the Compagnie des Chemins de Fer du Midi inaugurates its line from Lourdes to Pierrefitte-Nestalas.
