Historique

History
A first enclosure opens onto a second which preserves the remains of a large building terminated by two gables. Against the second enclosure, further on, are found the remains of a Romanesque chapel whose apse was covered with a barrel vault now gone. The barrel vault of the nave subsists, formed by a filling of flat stones, above an archivolt decorated with arcading, checkerwork, and billets characteristic of the Romanesque period. The remains of the keep are found at the top of the massif, at the centre of a terrace. The keep is formed by two rooms of square plan, vaulted in barrel vault and superimposed. The staircase rises around these rooms in seven flights, placed in the thickness of the wall. It opens onto the terrace, by a round arch door. Each room is lit by a loophole and contains a recess formed in the wall as well as a sink. The staircase ends at the top on a terrace which has lost its parapet.
