Historique
Château de style Renaissance construit dans la première moitié du 16e siècle par Jacques Richard Gourdon de Genouillac, dit "Galiot", maître d'artillerie de Louis XII et de François 1er. Placé juste en amont de la perte du ruisseau d'Assier, le moulin est vraisemblablement édifié durant la première phase de construction du château voisin de style Renaissance, à l'emplacement de l'ancien moulin médiéval, entre 1515 et 1524. Le bâtiment à un étage est en pierre. En rez-de-chaussée, la salle des meules comporte une cheminée en pierre de taille du 16e siècle ; encore en place, les quatre paires de meules et leurs mécanismes peu usagés datent d 'une modernisation tardive vers 1880, tout comme, en soubassement, les quatre rouets en métal, et, à l'étage, des vestiges de renvois d'angle qui servaient notamment à faire tourner une scierie extérieure au moulin. Le moulin s'arrête en 1914. L'Etat en est propriétaire depuis 1934.

History
Castle of Renaissance style built in the first half of the 16th century by Jacques Richard Gourdon de Genouillac, called "Galiot", master of artillery of Louis XII and Francis I. Placed just upstream of the loss of the Assier stream, the mill is apparently built during the first phase of construction of the neighbouring castle of Renaissance style, on the site of the former medieval mill, between 1515 and 1524. The single-storey building is of stone. On the ground floor, the millstone chamber contains a fireplace of dressed stone from the 16th century; still in place, the four pairs of millstones and their little-used mechanisms date from a late modernisation around 1880, as do, in the basement, the four metal wheels, and, on the storey above, vestiges of angle shafts which served in particular to turn a sawmill external to the mill. The mill stops in 1914. The State has owned it since 1934.
