Couvent fondé en 1663 par J. Jacques Séguier de la Verrière, évêque de Lombez. L'emplacement fut choisi loin de la Save pour éviter les inondations. D'abord simple résidence pour une demi douzaine de religieux, le couvent fut érigé en 1695 en gardiennat. En 1793, le couvent devient bien national et est affecté à la gendarmerie. Le bâtiment présente une façade austère sur deux niveaux séparés par deux corniches. Le rez-de-chaussée est surélevé par rapport à la rue et l'accès se fait par un perron à escaliers latéraux. Le mobilier de la chapelle du couvent se trouve aujourd'hui dans l'ancienne cathédrale de Lombez.

History
Convent founded in 1663 by J. Jacques Séguier de la Verrière, bishop of Lombez. The site was chosen far from the Save to avoid flooding. At first a simple residence for half a dozen religious, the convent was elevated in 1695 to a guardianate. In 1793, the convent becomes national property and is assigned to the gendarmerie. The building presents an austere façade on two levels separated by two cornices. The ground floor is raised above street level and access is by a flight of stairs with lateral stairs. The furnishings of the convent chapel are today in the former cathedral of Lombez.
