Historique
La pile, démolie à la naissance de la niche, est formée d'un bloc de maçonnerie pleine, quadrangulaire, uniformément revêtu en petit appareil. La hauteur actuelle, jadis plus élevée, atteint 5, 50 mètres sur la façade nord. Cette façade se compose d'un soubassement de trois assises sur lequel repose un premier étage de dix-huit assises formant saillie. Au-dessus se dessine une corniche en retrait de six assises, qui supporte, également en retrait, un second étage parementé, de trente-deux assises.

History
The pier, demolished at the birth of the niche, is formed of a block of solid masonry, quadrangular, uniformly dressed in small ashlar. The present height, once greater, reaches 5.50 metres on the north façade. This façade is composed of a base of three courses on which rests a first storey of eighteen courses forming projection. Above is drawn a cornice set back by six courses, which supports, also set back, a second storey facing, of thirty-two courses.
