Tour appartenant aux remparts antiques de la ville, remontant au Bas-Empire ou au Haut Moyen-Age. Au 16e siècle, le plan de Belleforest montre, près de l'archevêché, trois tours rondes aujourd'hui disparues, ressemblant à celle-ci. L'ouvrage a été réalisé dans un appareil caractéristique fait de rangées alternées de pierres de petit appareil et de briques plates. Base empatée de gros appareil. La tour est sans doute pleine. La courtine se prolonge de part et d'autre, dans les caves des maisons adjacentes. Cet ouvrage est le plus ancien d'Auch.

History
Tower belonging to the ancient ramparts of the city, dating back to the Late Empire or the High Middle Ages. In the 16th century, Belleforest's plan shows, near the archbishopric, three round towers now disappeared, resembling this one. The work was executed in a characteristic masonry composed of alternating rows of small ashlar and flat bricks. Base with large ashlar. The tower is doubtless solid. The curtain wall extends on either side, in the cellars of the adjacent houses. This work is the oldest in Auch.
