Historique
La création de la Généralité d'Auch est à l'origine de la construction du Palais de l'intendance en 1759. Sous la Révolution, cette primitive affectation disparut en même temps que les institutions d'Ancien régime. L'édifice a connu plusieurs réaffectations, entraînant de nombreux remaniements dont le plus marquant fut le remplacement de la terrasse ouest par la salle des guichets. La cour au nord-est a été agrandie au sud par la destruction d'une aile qui servait d'entrée principale. Au nord-ouest se trouvaient un escalier tournant, des bains, une garde-robe, une chambre... L'axe principal du bâtiment comprenait essentiellement les offices et cuisines. Au sud-ouest se trouvaient bureaux, archives, cour intérieure et corridors. Aux 19e et 20e siècles, les transformations intérieures furent nombreuses.

History
The creation of the Generalité of Auch is at the origin of the construction of the Intendant's Palace in 1759. Under the Revolution, this original use disappeared at the same time as the institutions of the Ancien régime. The building has undergone several reassignments, entailing numerous alterations, the most marked of which was the replacement of the west terrace by the ticket hall. The north-east courtyard was enlarged to the south by the destruction of a wing that served as main entrance. To the north-west were found a spiral staircase, bathrooms, a wardrobe, a chamber... The main axis of the building comprised essentially the offices and kitchens. To the south-west were found offices, archives, interior courtyard and corridors. In the 19th and 20th centuries, interior transformations were numerous.
