Historique
Le cours d'Etigny occupe l'emplacement d'un ancien cimetière. Le terrain aurait été planté d'arbres en 1613 par le maréchal de Roquelaure. Les intendants l'embellirent progressivement. Vers 1760, Mégret d'Etigny fit construire les murs de soutènement du sud et les gradins de pierre de l'entrée principale. History
The cours d'Etigny occupies the site of an ancient cemetery. The land is said to have been planted with trees in 1613 by the marshal de Roquelaure. The intendants gradually embellished it. Around 1760, Mégret d'Etigny had the retaining walls of the south built and the stone steps of the main entrance. In 1804, the sculptor Pierre Vigan was awarded the contract for the statue of the intendant, which was inaugurated in 1817.
