Historique
Château construit vers 1860 par le maître-verrier Louis-Victor Gesta qui contribua au renouvellement de la peinture sur verre au 19e siècle. Il édifia d'abord les ateliers de sa manufacture (1852) avec le four surmonté d'une haute cheminée, et une maison d'habitation. Puis, il fait bâtir un bâtiment d'exposition sur deux niveaux auquel il accola un nouveau bâtiment d'habitation doté d'une tourelle au nord-est, et de deux tourelles en encorbellement au sud-est. Des éléments de décor des 15e et 16e siècle ont été remployés, notamment sur la retombée des voûtes de la tourelle nord-est, dans les gargouilles saillantes des façades sud et nord, et dans le fronton couronnant la porte nord. La salle des Illustres présente un programme iconographique à la gloire des grands hommes de Toulouse, auquel a participé le peintre Benezet (toiles marouflées du plafond, scènes murales).

History
Castle built around 1860 by master glassmaker Louis-Victor Gesta who contributed to the renewal of glass painting in the 19th century. He first built the workshops of his manufacture (1852) with the kiln surmounted by a tall chimney, and a dwelling house. Then, he had an exhibition building built on two levels to which he attached a new dwelling building fitted with a turret to the north-east, and two corbelled turrets to the south-east. Decorative elements from the 15th and 16th centuries were reused, notably on the springing of the vaults of the north-east turret, in the projecting gargoyles of the south and north facades, and in the pediment crowning the north door. The Illustres Hall presents an iconographic programme to the glory of the great men of Toulouse, in which participated the painter Benezet (paintings mounted on the ceiling, mural scenes).
