Historique
Cette tour de défense en brique à deux étages de 30 m de hauteur dont les origines remonteraient au 13e siècle garde jusqu'en 1631 sa fonction militaire qui s'exprime dans son architecture par des caractères défensifs marqués. En 1636 on lui attribue sa première fonction industrielle en y installant un foulon pour les draps de laine. C'est semble t-il au 19e siècle qu'il reçoit trois paires de meules pour moudre le grain. Ces aménagements sont encore bien visibles dans les soubassements de la tour où subsistent les conduites des vannes, les conduits d'amenée, les cuves des rouets et également quelques vestiges dans la salle des meules au rez-de-chaussée où sont déposés quatre rouets en métal. C'est dans ces lieux que la famille Brusson commença à fabriquer ses premières pâtes alimentaires en 1872.

History
This defensive tower of brick with two storeys of 30 m in height whose origins go back to the 13th century retained its military function until 1631, which expresses itself in its architecture through marked defensive characteristics. In 1636 it is assigned its first industrial function by the installation of a fulling mill for woollen cloth. It seems to be in the 19th century that it received three pairs of millstones for grinding grain. These modifications are still clearly visible in the basements of the tower where survive the pipes of the sluice gates, the supply conduits, the wheels troughs and also some vestiges in the millstone room on the ground floor where four metal wheels are deposited. It is in these premises that the Brusson family began to manufacture its first food pastes in 1872.
