Historique
Vaste bâtiment destiné au stockage du grain. Les charettes de céréales arrivaient dans la cour centrale. Les sacs de grains, déposés sous les arcades, étaient montés dans les pièces des étages par un grand escalier aux larges marches. Après la Révolution, le lieu fut occupé par la communauté des Filles de la Croix, dédiée principalement à l'enseignement primaire féminin. Vers 1840, les religieuses de Saint-Vincent-de-Paul les remplacèrent. Des travaux de transformation du bâtiment en hospice eurent lieu, avec compatimentage des locaux, création d'alvéoles entre les arcades, construction de nouveaux bâtiments. £L'édifice présente une architecture de brique avec de grandes fenêtres à croisillons. History
Vast building intended for grain storage. Carts of cereals arrived in the central courtyard. Sacks of grain, deposited under the arcades, were raised to the rooms of the storeys by a large staircase with wide steps. After the Revolution, the place was occupied by the community of the Daughters of the Cross, dedicated principally to female primary education. Towards 1840, the sisters of Saint-Vincent-de-Paul replaced them. Works transforming the building into a hospice took place, with partitioning of the premises, creation of compartments between the arcades, construction of new buildings. The building presents an architecture of brick with large windows with glazing bars. The courtyard possesses two superimposed storeys of wooden galleries, with balustrades of timber framing, above a ground floor with arcades.
