Grande construction en briques d'une architecture qui rappelle la Catalogue. De grands murs presque plats, élevés au-dessus d'un glacis et percés de quelques rares fenêtres dans la partie haute. Cette citadelle fait partie des restes d'un ensemble fortifié dont l'église voisine constituait l'un des bastions. Il existait un château dès les guerres des Albigeois. Simon de Montfort le donna à l'évêque de Toulouse en 1214. Ce château s'identifie probablement avec la citadelle, remanié par l'archevêque Pierre Dumoulin (1439-1451).

History
Large brick construction with architecture reminiscent of Catalonia. Large almost flat walls, raised above a glacis and pierced by few rare windows in the upper part. This citadel is part of the remains of a fortified complex of which the neighbouring church constituted one of the bastions. A castle existed as early as the Albigensian Wars. Simon de Montfort gave it to the Bishop of Toulouse in 1214. This castle probably corresponds with the citadel, altered by Archbishop Pierre Dumoulin (1439-1451).
