Historique
Excellent exemple d'architecture 18e à Toulouse. L'hôtel a remplacé, en 1745, un ensemble de bâtisses dévastées par un incendie. Il fut édifié sur les plans de l'architecte Maduran, avec une façade de style Louis XV, avec alternance de briques et de pierres. La façade sur la place présente un avant-corps central légèrement saillant de trois travées, surmonté d'un fronton avec oculus, et deux corps latéraux de cinq travées chacun. Le rez-de-chaussée est percé d'arcades continues. A l'intérieur, au premier étage, un vaste salon possède un plafond peint d'époque Charles X. Tout le décor intérieur 18e a disparu au cours d'aménagements. La cage d'escalier est ornée d'une rampe en fer forgé de style Louis XV. L'édifice a été construit par Henri-Joseph Lafage, descendant d'une noble famille capitulaire.

History
Excellent example of 18th-century architecture in Toulouse. The hôtel replaced, in 1745, a set of buildings devastated by fire. It was erected on the plans of architect Maduran, with a Louis XV style facade, with alternating brick and stone. The facade on the square presents a central projecting avant-corps of three bays, topped by a pediment with oculus, and two lateral sections of five bays each. The ground floor is pierced by continuous arcades. Inside, on the first floor, a vast salon has a ceiling painted in the Charles X period. All the 18th-century interior decoration has disappeared in the course of alterations. The staircase cage is decorated with a wrought iron ramp in Louis XV style. The building was constructed by Henri-Joseph Lafage, descendant of a noble capitulary family.
